Obituary of Isabelle R. Jones

Isabelle R. ''Issi'' Jones Painted Post: Isabelle R. ''Issi'' Jones, age 79, of Painted Post, NY passed away Monday November 24, 2014 at Schuyler Hospital, in Montour Falls, N.Y.. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours; and her services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Rock Stream Cemetery, Rock Stream, NY. Isabelle was born January 11, 1935 in Reading Center, NY, a daughter of the late Marcus E. and Ellen Jayne Denison. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1952. On Aug. 29, 1953 in Dundee, NY she married John B. "Jack" Jones. Formerly of Rock Stream, and Watkins Glen, she has lived in Painted Post since 1970. She was a former Advertising Director for 20 years employed by Corning Building Co. and C.B.C. Furniture, retiring from them in 1994. From 1994 – 2002 she was a Type Setter, and Graphic Artist for the Corning Penny Saver. A real people person, she continued her love of dealing with people by becoming a greeter at Walmart. Besides her busy work schedule Mrs. Jones was a member and Vice President of the Rock Stream Cemetery Assoc.; and in her spare time she loved outdoor activities, including walking, bike riding, swimming, as well as indoor hobbies of canning and playing cards. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her husband of 61 years "Jack" Jones at home; 2 daughters Jennifer J. (Robert) Wise of Rotterdam, NY, Marilyn E. Jones, and a son Brian S. Jones, both at home; a granddaughter Zoe J. Wise of Rotterdam; a sister Deborah Ann Dailey of Rock Stream; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by a sister Madeline E. Sather and a brother Harold Denison. Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
