Obituary of Helen D. Klopf

Helen D. Klopf Bradford/Tyrone: Helen D. Klopf, age 93, of Weller Island, Bradford, NY died Monday September 7, 2015 at Ira Davenport Hospital, in Bath, N.Y. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 11 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, with Pastor Richard Schied officiating. Inurnment will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY. A reception will be held at the Tyrone Fire House after the burial. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Library, 32 Water St., Dundee, 14837, the First Unitarian Church of Rochester 220 Winton Rd. South, Rochester, 14610, or the Tyrone United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1, Tyrone, NY 14887. Helen was born December 27, 1921 in Dundee, NY, the daughter of the late Gustave and Mary Wood Klopf. She was a member of the first graduating class from Dundee Central School's new building in 1939. She went on to graduate from Keuka College with a Bachelors Degree in Business Education, and then earned her Masters Degree in Counseling and Business Ed. from the University of Rochester in 1945. She has lived locally since 2002, previously of Irondequoit where she taught at the high school level at Irondequoit Central School District for 20 years; followed by several more years teaching Bookkeeping night classes at R.I.T. finally retiring in 1979. Miss Klopf was a member of First Unitarian Church of Rochester, attended Tyrone United Methodist Church, and was a member of the NYS Retired Teachers Assoc.. She loved reading and music. She is survived by her sisters in law Doris Klopf and Florence Klopf both of Weller Island; and several nieces and nephews.
