Richard R. 'Rick' Sherman II

Penn Yan: Richard R. 'Rick' Sherman II, age 55, of Penn Yan, NY died Friday May 12, 2023 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY.

Rick was born August 2, 1967 in Cortland, NY, the son of the late Richard R. Sherman I. and the former Evelyn Maselbas Sherman. On Feb. 17, 1988, he married the love of his life, the former Kara A. de la Fuente. They enjoyed 30 years of marriage before she passed away on June 22, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rick worked in the manufacturing engineering field for many years, which consisted of circuit board sales and construction. Most recently, he was employed by Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital where he worked as a maintenance technician.

Rick was an avid outdoorsman, sportsman, and animal lover. He enjoyed hunting all varieties of game and had the most fun on his hunting adventures with friends. He cherished time spent with his family.

He is loved and will be greatly missed by his twin daughters Anessa L. and Cassandra A. Sherman both of Buffalo, NY; his mother Evelyn Albro of Dundee; 2 brothers John E. (Kyle LaBarge) Sherman of Penn Yan, Brian J. Albro of Ithaca, NY, his mother-in-law Carol de la Fuente of Dundee; and sister-in-law Elena de la Fuente of Portland, OR; along with several nieces and nephews.
