Obituary of Rosa L. Haff

Rosa L. Haff Dundee: Rosa L. Haff, age 81, of Dundee, NY passed away Sunday March 30, 2025 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 4:00 -7:00 pm Thursday April 3, 2025 at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday April 4, with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837; or the Penn Yan Lions Club c/o Community Betterment Program P.O. Box 663 Penn Yan, NY 14527. Rosa was born Sept. 30, 1943 in Chiefland, FL, the daughter of the late Robert Casy 'R.C.' and Pearl (Brown) Talley. After graduating from high school, she immediately moved to New York in 1961. On Nov. 13, 1965 in Hammondsport, NY she married Henry W. Haff. Rosa started her working career as a tow motor operator for Seneca Foods, in Dundee. She gradually worked her way up the ladder to becoming an Administrative Assistant for several of the plant managers over her 30 years with Seneca; and also in the H.R. Department working for another 4 years with Northern Cranberry, until the Dundee plant closed. Rosa was not ready to retire, so she continued working as a teller for Five Star Bank in Dundee, until she turned 65, in 2008. Mrs. Haff was a former member of the Hammondsport American Legion Ladies Auxiliary; several bowling teams in local leagues, enjoyed reading, and supporting Hallmark stores collecting Christmas décor. But nothing made her happier, than time spent helping raise and care for her beloved grandchildren. She will be forever missed by her husband of 59 years, Henry W. Haff at home; son Michael H. (Carrie) Haff of Hammondsport; daughter Rebecca E. (Ronald) Gable of Canandaigua; 5 grandchildren Courtney (Joe) Stansfield, Caleigh Haff, Linsey Haff, Joseph 'Joey' Gable, Jessica Gable; 3 great grandchildren, Andrew Jacob 'AJ', Avery, and Ainsley, Stansfield; along with nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
