Cindy was born June 2, 1961, in North Hornell, NY, the daughter of the late Hugh S. and Barbara J. (Lewis) Friends. She grew up in Jasper, NY and eventually settled in Dundee, NY where she found her calling as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Cindy worked as a CNA for more than 20 years, helping and caring for long-term inpatients she grew to love, often bringing them home for the holidays. At the time of her passing, Cindy was employed at the VA Medical Center in Bath, NY, where she worked with and cared for disabled veterans. Although Cindy was an amazing caregiver, her greatest passion was her love of Lake Life. Cindy spent her summers at the family lake house, boating and floating with friends and family until her heart was content. Her passion for Lake Life was contagious and led to countless days of fun in the sun.
