Obituary of Arlene Ruth Moskal

Arlene R. Moskal Watkins Glen: Arlene Ruth Moskal, age 79, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away Tuesday May 20, 2025. Honoring her wishes there will be no prior calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday May 31, at 11:00 at St. Mary's of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 905 N. Decatur St., Watkins Glen with Father Jeffrey Tunnicliff officiating. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's of the Lake Parrish, 905 N. Decatur St., Watkins Glen, NY 14891. Arlene was born May 23, 1945, in Village of Bath, NY, the beloved daughter of the late Olin H. and Alice L. (Caster) Fox. She graduated from Avoca High School in 1963. On July 6, 1963, in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bath, NY she was married to the love of her life for 52 years to Eugene T. Moskal, who preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 2015. Arlene worked a waitress for most of her life, having served at numerous restaurants, including Castel Grisch, and the Glen Motor Inn in Watkins Glen, NY. Arlene was the ultimate fan of Giants football, Syracuse basketball, and lacrosse. Her love of travel took her throughout the country, but it was Arizona that captured her heart. There, she discovered a deep appreciation for silver and turquoise jewelry and developed a fondness for Southwestern décor. Arlene had a joyful spirit and a love for music, especially Elvis and polkas. Above all, her greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A woman of faith, Arlene was a devoted member of St. Mary’s of the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Watkins Glen, NY She will be missed by 2 daughters Barbara L. (Calvin) Switzer of Hillsdale, NJ, and Dawn M. (James) Chaplain of Hewitt, NJ; a son Mark E. (Jannica) Moskal of Burdett, NY; 6 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
