Obituary of Paul W. Thompson

Paul W. Thompson Watkins Glen/Reading: Paul W. Thompson, age 58, of the Town of Reading, NY lost the fight on Monday September 22, 2025 in the comfort of his recliner. Paul was born March 15, 1967 in Montour Falls, NY, a son of Walter Jay and Ella (Zahorian) Thompson. He was a farmer all of his life, starting in the vineyards, before becoming a self-employed agricultural custom farmer, and ended up raising beef cattle. He worked until the very end as much as his body would allow. Paul lived hard, worked hard, and strived to be the best he could always be. He loved animals, both live and internet auctions, and attending concerts. He will be remembered for always helping anyone in need. He enjoyed hunting more for the outdoors than the kill, and was rewarded with the deer of a lifetime, when he really didn't want to pull the trigger. He leaves behind his son Nate T. Coleman with whom he made his home; a dear sister Marian L. Teed who he will be forever grateful; his two best friends Leonard Hoover and Mike Barber; his parents; 2 brothers; 3 more sisters; and to many other relatives to list. Continuing to follow his instructions, there will be no calling hours or service. In lieu of memorial contributions, he asks those wishing, to please honor his life by paying it forward, lending a helping hand or doing a good deed for someone.
