Obituary of Carol Louise Cadwell

Carol Louise Cadwell Penn Yan/Dundee: Carol Louise Cadwell, age 82, of Penn Yan, NY passed away Friday November 28, 2025 at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, N.Y.. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday (Dec. 5) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Semans officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Carol was born July 14, 1943 in Montour Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Martin and Esther (Radka) Andrews Jr. She married early in life, raising a family and working alongside her first husband on their family dairy farm. A caregiver at heart, she chose a different path in life, and became a home health aide, working for a local agency. On Dec. 3, 1983 she married Leo F. Cadwell Jr. Carol was a beloved aide, and quickly transitioned into private duty caregiving, serving numerous clients over a 25 year career, retiring in 2003. She and her husband both enjoyed their retirement and going to the Penn Yan Moose Lodge, until he passed away on Feb. 15, 2009. Mrs. Cadwell loved the fashion industry, giving new meaning to the term "Diva", she loved to have her hair done, and shop for the latest of styles. Her favorite time of the year was always Christmas, with all the traditions, and decorations, and chances to dress up for the holidays. She is loved and will be missed by her 2 daughters, Ruthann L. Schenck, and Debra J. Litchfield with whom she had made her home; a granddaughter Debra (Tommy) Banach of Penn Yan; 3 great grandchildren; a brother James Martin (Myrna) Andrews of Dundee; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, and husband Leo, she was predeceased by the father of her children James Joseph Tuttle Sr. in 2013, and her only son James Joseph Tuttle Jr. in 2023.
