Obituary of John Michael Campbell

John Michael Campbell Penn Yan: John Michael Campbell, age 65, passed away at home on November 20, 2025 in Barrington, NY. John was born February 21, 1960 in Penn Yan, NY, the son of the late Lamont (Monty) and Mary (Wolcott) Campbell. John was a graduate of Dundee Central School class of 1978; he then lived in California and Texas where he obtained his diving certification to work on oil rigs and other deep sea positions. John was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker building cabinets and fine furniture; working in the building trades. Most recently he was employed at Barrington Cellars Winery. John is survived by his wife of thirty-one years, Wendy (McCraw) Campbell; sisters, Judith Naylor of Baldwinsville, NY, and Anne (Armand) D'Abbracci of Binghamton, NY; 2 nephews Brett and his wife, Melissa Naylor also of Baldwinsville, and their daughter Jessica Naylor of Prince Frederick, MD; A.J. and his wife. Courtney D'Abbracci of Orlando FL. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by a brother James Campbell, a brother-in-law Harry Naylor and nephew, Christopher D'Abbracci. John will be forever remembered for his free spirit, generous nature, and his love of all things Jimmy Buffet. A Celebration of His Life is being planned in the spring of 2026.
