Obituary of Andree R. Penn

Andree R. Penn Altay/Dundee: Andrée R. Penn, age 80, of Altay, NY, formerly of Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Monday December 8, 2025 at Schuyler Hospital, in Montour Falls, N.Y. Honoring her wishes there are no calling hours or public service. The family will honor her privately. Andrée was born January 1, 1945 in Great Barrington, MA, the daughter of the late Kenneth H. and Renee A. (Hograndleur) Crane. She became a Certified Nursing Assistant and was employed by Fairview Commons Nursing Home in Great Barrington, MA until her retirement. On Sept 14, 1991 she married John Donald Penn in Huntington, MA moving to Altay in 2011. She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband John Donald Penn at home; she is also survived by 2 sons Eugene W. (Linda) Funk Jr. of Copake, NY, Michael D. (Erica) Funk of Sheffield, MA; a daughter Melinda S. "Mindy" (Patrick) Nilson of Great Barrington, MA; 2 stepsons Jeff (Sue) Penn, and Joel (Kim) Penn; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by a grandson Lukas Andersen, and a brother Gerald F. Crane both of Great Barrington, MA. Andrée was an avid horseback rider and loved barrel racing in shows with her husband and grandson. She was always up for any adventure as long as she was beside her beloved husband.
