Obituary of A. C. Dobson

A. C. Dobson Himrod: A. C. Dobson, age 73, of Himrod, NY died Thursday September 26, 2013 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, in Elmira, NY. Honoring his wishes there will be no formal calling hours. The family invites friends and relatives to a Celebration of His Life, from 4:00 - 6:00 pm with a dinner following Tuesday (Oct. 1) at The Decoy Restaurant, 4576 Route 14, Rock Stream, NY 14878 with Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will be private in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Library, 32 Water St., Dundee, NY 14837. A.C. was born March 29, 1940 in Hazard, Kentucky, the son of the late Miles and Isabelle McDaniels Dobson. On June 20, 1965 in the Dundee Baptist Church, he married the former Shirley A. Hess; whom he met while working in the area for the telephone company as a Pole Installer. He has lived locally since 1965, and retired in 1999 from Agway in Dundee after 35 years as a Service Technician. A Fiero car enthusiast he belonged to several car clubs, including Central NY Classic Cruisers; he was a Past Board Member of F.O.C.O.A. - Fiero Owners Club of America; a Past President of N.Y.F.O.C. - N.Y. Fiero Owners Club; Space Coast Fiero's of Florida; and M.A.F.O.A. - Mid Atlantic Fiero Owners of America; an avid reader, he also enjoyed his membership in the Kentucky Explorers Book Club, and doing Genealogy Research. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 48 years Shirley A. Dobson at home; their only son A.C. (Brandy) Dobson II of Painted Post, NY; several nieces, nephews, and in-laws; and countless friends. He was pre-deceased by a brother O.J. Dobson of Irvine, KY, in 2004.
