Obituary of Kenneth F. Howell

Kenneth F. Howell Dundee: Kenneth F. Howell, age 79, of Dundee, NY died Friday October 25, 2013 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Monday (Oct. 28) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; a Fireman's Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday (Oct. 29) at the Funeral Home, with Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. A reception will follow at the Dundee American Legion. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company, or the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Kenneth was born October 10, 1934 in Dundee, NY, the eldest son of the late Fred M. and Dorothy Barkley Howell. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1952; and immediately started working for Angler Boat Factory, from 1952-1961 when it became Penn Yan Boat Company. He continued working there for 13 more years before accepting a position at Dundee Central School, where he retired 21 years later as Head Night Custodian. Mr. Howell was a member of Life Member of Dundee Fire Company, and the Dundee Fireman's Benevolent Assoc.; in his younger years, he played Lead Guitar and Vocals in "The Howell Boy's" family band. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He is loved and will be dearly missed by 3 sons Steven K. (Jane) Howell of Rochester, Ronald A. Howell at home, Randy S. (Lisa) Howell of Dundee; 2 daughters Debra A. (Mike) Naylor of Dundee, Wendy L. Cagle also at home; 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother Stewart (Barb) Howell of Dundee; 5 sisters Norma Jean Sechrist of Rochester, Irene (Bill) Brown of Dundee, Shirley (Harry) Goltry of Beaver Dams, Sharon (Carl) Morgan of Dundee, Diana (Don) Long of Bath; the mother of his children Annie M. Howell of Dundee; numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 2 grandsons, Jason M. Naylor in 2002, Keith M.
