Anna Mae Povoski Bradford: Anna Mae Povoski, age 76, of Bradford, NY died Sunday June 22, 2014 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1400 Winton Road North, Rochester, NY 14609-5896, or the Bradford Volunteer Fire Dept. Inc. Main St. Bradford, NY 14815. Anna Mae was born April 3, 1938 in Hornell, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Ann Romance Kowalski. On April 16, 1955 in St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church in Bradford, NY, she married the late Joseph Povoski; who passed away on June 18, 2000. A lifelong local resident, Anna worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Steuben County Infirmary in Bath, before taking a position at the Bath V.A. Medical Center, retiring in the mid 1970's. Mrs. Povoski was a member St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and was an active member of RAKKASAN Ladies Auxiliary of the 187 Airborne Infantry Regiment U.S. which she and her husband attended reunions every year, and she tandem parachuted at the age of 60. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, plants and flowers, knitting and crocheting, making Afghans for all of her family, and was proud to say she stained every board in the making of her beautiful log home. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her six children, Joseph S. (Vivian) Povoski, Sandra J. (Paul Runyan) Eslick both of Bradford, NY, Ronald A. (Cindy) Povoski of Dundee, Terry M. (Mia Clemens) Povoski of Tyrone, Timothy J. (Kimberly Luke) Povoski, and Daniel S. Povoski both also of Bradford, 7 grandchildren James Eslick, Angela (Bill) Sheesley II, Sara (Anthony) Yeoman, Stephen, Christopher, Justin, and Collin Povoski; 12 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by 2 brothers, and 2 sisters. Arrangements by the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
