My sincere condolence to the Christensen family.. Ken was always so kind to me ... He knew my father who passed away in 1970 and shared memories ..he loved taking the boat out on the lake and even brought it right up so I could say hello to the people who bought our cottage..he seemed to delight in those kindnesses ... Blessings and RIP..

oh how sad I was to see this obituary today. I have known Ken and his son Kenny for many decades on Keuka Lake. My Keuka College yearbook picture was taken by the living room fireplace at their home. I bartending many years around this lake, and each time Ken or the Viking was coming into dock, I always met Ken with a kahlua & milk and waited on him hand & foot, as he did for so many of his guests at the Viking for years.
I will miss you buddy xo

Ten years ago during the summer of 2004 I celebrated my 50th birthday on the Viking Spirit with family and friends. I was really looking forward to do this as I spent my summers as a youth on Keuka Lake at my grandparents cottage which then had the address of 1305 East Lake Road across from Bluff Point.
Ken was very helpful in setting up the party for me and ensuring it was a great experience for me, my family and friends. I still have a video of the party on the boat. I'll cherish that party always and always think kindly of Ken in connection with it.
My sister has a place on the east side of the lake and so next summer I'll be driving by the Viking Resort and as I do I'll reflect on Ken as I pass Resort.

I was saddened to hear about Mr. Christensen passing.
Growing up on the lake in the summers were made better for me as a young boy knowing Mr. Christensen and his family.
As a teenager I found Mr. Christensen to be cool for his age. He would ski with his clothes on. He would make high speed runs down the lake in some of his large boats with Ken J and I riding along. Ken Jr. would have to be on watch when he took the E scow out in high winds. I learned how to right a sailboat by walking the mast across the another boat dumping the water from the sail until it would right itself. He would scuba dive with just bathing trunks, tank and weight belt.
In his later years he showed me how to do a proper burn out with his truck going up the hill to rt54.
Mr. Christensen touch a lot of lives and provided a great escape to many families including mine.
All my best to Ken, Karen and their families!

Mike and I had the good fortune of stopping by the Viking Resort in our motorhome in the summer of 2008. Ken was so excited to show us around, and take us into town to a few of his favorite restruants and wineries. We spent the day with Ken before continuing with our travels. When I hear of the liquor "Tia Maria" I think of Ken.....one of his favorite drinks. He had a good 88 years of a fun filled life.
With Love,
Donna and Mike Taylor

We had the pleasure of meeting Ken on several occasions during his visits to California. We had him over to our home for Christmas dinner, carols and playing games. He was an interesting man, led a very full life, and will be missed by all.
