Steven E. Webster Himrod: Steven E. Webster, age 72, of Himrod, NY died Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Calling hours will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 30) with a Fireman's Prayer Service at 8:00 pm. at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday (Dec. 1) with Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will be in Grove Mount Cemetery, Himrod. A celebration of his life will follow at the Himrod Fire Hall. Steven was born June 25, 1942, in Elmira, NY, the son of the late Emerson A. and Anna E. Spencer Webster. He graduated from Dundee Central School in 1960. He moved to Rochester and was an employee of Kodak for 7 years. When his mother passed in 1969, he returned to Himrod to take over the family business, the Gold Coast Trailer Park. Steve was also a Dundee Central School Bus driver for 22 years and a past president of CSEA. He retired in 2003 turning his business over to his son. He enjoyed helping people and was a member of the Town of Milo for 32 years on the Planning Board and as a Town Councilman. He was a Yates County Legislator for 12 years and a past member of the Dundee Rotary Club, where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow in 2003. Besides his family, Steve's next greatest love was the Himrod Fire Department. He joined the department in 1970 and over 30+ years, rose through the ranks of line officers, including Chief. He received numerous awards for dedication and service including Yates County Fireman of the Year in 1983 and the Roger A. Ribble Memorial Award in 2005. His favorite pastime was hunting at his camp in PA during turkey and deer seasons. There was always a close knit group of guys staying there and Steve was the head chef. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 38 years Debra A. Webster at home; son Jared S. (Melanie) Webster of Himrod; daughter Corteney A. (Scott) Boudinot of Dundee; 4 grandchildren, Casey L. and Jessica A. Mortensen, both of Ohio, and Steven J. and Aidan A.R. Webster, both of Himrod; sister Judi Webster of California; many relatives and countless friends. Steve was predeceased by his parents, 3 year old brother Jared Lee in 1941, sister Marilyn "Peggy" Knapp in 2005, and daughter Stacy K. Mortensen in 2012.
