Obituary of Linda Kay Shultz

Linda Kay Shultz Dundee/Newark: Linda Kay Shultz, age 51, of Dundee, previously of Newark, NY; passed away peacefully on Sunday February 8, 2015 after courageously living with ALS for the last nine years. Honoring her wishes there are no calling hours, and services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers those wishing may make memorial contributions to the charity of their choice. Linda was born October 10, 1963 in Newark, NY, the daughter of John O. and June A. Fisher Shultz. She graduated from Newark High School in 1981. She was a former employee of Kodak, in Rochester, having worked as a research technician from 1992 – 2005. A career change, took her to Bausch & Lomb for a year before she was forced to stop working due to her ALS diagnosis. Linda was a vibrant active woman who enjoyed all forms of outdoor activity, a true nature lover, who was happiest when the sun was shining, reading, fishing, or cheering on her favorite NASCAR team. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her son Zachary Swinney; her mother June A. Shultz both of Newark; NY, a sister Cheryl (Peter Parker) Johnston of Lambertville, NJ; two brothers Mark Shultz and Paul (Amy) Shultz also of Newark; a niece Sarah Johnston of Manahawkin, NJ; a nephew Nick Johnston of Lambertville, NJ; and several aunts, uncles & cousins and dear friends; and she will live in the hearts of her best friends and caregivers Kellie & Chris Crawford of Dundee with whom she made her home for the last eight months. She was predeceased by her father John O. Shultz on Dec. 8, 2012. Arrangements were entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
