Obituary of Winifred J. Trenchard

Winifred J. "Winnie" Trenchard Dundee: Winifred J. "Winnie" Trenchard, age 89, formerly of Dundee, NY died Wednesday March 11, 2015 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, in Montour Falls, NY. Friends and family are invited to calling hours from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday (Mar. 15) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, NY; where her funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Inurnment will be in Grove Mount Cemetery in Himrod, NY in the spring. Honoring Winnie's wishes the family respectfully requests no flowers, but graciously ask that memorial contributions be made to Dundee Fire Company, or Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Winnie was born May 3, 1925 in Dundee, NY, one of the 14 children of the late William H. and Ethel Smith Pierce. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1942. On Jan. 26, 1943 in Second Milo, NY she married the late Paul R. Trenchard, who passed away on Sept. 1, 1992. A lifelong area resident, she was a waitress for over 30 years, starting at the Ranch House on Rte. 14, and then employed for 25 years by the Dresden Hotel, retiring in 1988. Mrs. Trenchard was a member of Dundee United Methodist Church, and Home Bureau, she enjoyed crafts, and ceramics, wall papering, and caring for elderly friends. She will be missed by her daughter Paula J. Wells of Camillus, NY; 2 grandchildren Greta (Ben) Urbanek of Cincinnati, OH, Christopher (Jessica Duer) Spas of Camillus, NY, 4 great grandchildren; her only surviving brother Richard "Dick" (Joyce) Pierce of Dundee, NY; and countless nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was pre-deceased by a son Gary R. Trenchard in 2011, a daughter Cindy Trenchard in 1953,a grandson Gary "Robie" Trenchard II in 1986, 3 brothers and 9 sisters.
