Obituary of Marian Louise Perry

Marian Louise Perry Penn Yan: Marian Louise Perry, age 70, of Penn Yan, NY died unexpectedly Thursday February 4, 2016 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Honoring her wishes there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee in the spring on a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Penn Yan, 224 Main St. Penn Yan, NY 14527. Marian was born March 4, 1945 in Dansville, NY, the one of 3 daughters of the late Marion LaVerne and Louise Irene Spears Muchler. A life long area resident; she was a secretary for the Salvation Army, in Penn Yan, until she was injured forcing her to retire in the 1980's. Ms. Perry was a devoted community member, belonging to the First Baptist Church of Penn Yan, the Penn Yan Ladies of the Moose Lodge #1519; she was one of the first volunteers for the Penn Yan Ambulance, and volunteered countless hours at the The Once Again Shoppe of Penn Yan, and was a former Home Health Aide. In her spare time, she loved going to yard sales, growing flowers, reading, cooking and sewing. She is survived by her 30 year friend and companion John I. "Superman" Mattison of Penn Yan; 5 sons Ronald E. (Cheri) Perry Jr. of Rock Stream, Mark A. Perry of Pulteney, Tim L. Perry of Ossining, NY, Barry K. (Kathi) Mattison and Kevin S. (Kristine) Mattison both of Penn Yan; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; her only and dear niece Mary I. "Missy Sue" Wheeler of Dundee; her best friend Janice Knecht of Penn Yan; and several nephews. She was pre-deceased by her 2 sisters Ginger Easling on Oct. 19, 1984, Emma Jane Wheeler on Sept. 4, 2012, and a son Douglas J. Mattison on Apr. 15, 2009.
