Clara Jennie Sample Dundee: Clara Jennie Sample, age 88, of Dundee, NY died accidently on Sunday April 3, 2016. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon on Thursday (April 7) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company or the Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Clara was born March 13, 1928 in Dundee, NY, the daughter of the late Lee R. and Bertha M. Beyea Sample. A life-long local resident and having never married; she worked in the berry fields and vineyards early in life, and later became a professional housekeeper. A homebody by choice, she was a loving caregiver for her mother in the later stages of her life. Mrs. Sample had formerly attended the Lakemont Congregational Christian Church, and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. She is survived by a sister Mary Veden of Montour Falls, NY; several nieces and nephews including Madeline Gill of Kendall, NY, and her caring friends Debra Burkholder and family of Dundee, NY.
