David G. Pierce Corning: David G. Pierce, age 66, of Corning, NY died unexpectedly on Saturday June 11, 2016 at Corning Center, in Corning, NY. Honoring the family wishes, there will be no prior calling hours. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 22 in Hillside Cemetery, Route 14A, Dundee, with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. David was born August 22, 1949 in Corning, NY, the son of the late Robert Henry Pierce and the former Anna Mae Tapper Pierce. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1968, and served in Vietnam. A former employee of Corning Glass; he retired as a Supervisor for World Kitchen, in Corning, in 2007. Mr. Pierce was a Life Member of the Corning VFW, and enjoyed golf and bowling. He is survived by his mother Anna Mae Pierce-Putnam of Corning, 4 brothers Ronald H. (Sue) Pierce of Hornby, NY, Donald G. (Sheri) Pierce of Corning, Douglas A. Pierce with whom he made his home, Jeff L. (Loretta) Pierce of Addison, NY; 4 sisters Lucinda A. (DuWayne) Boesiger of Hemet, CA, Doreen C. (Randy) Evans of Corning, Denise A. (Harold) Cady of Caton, NY, Lorie M. (Scott) Woodruff of Hornby, NY; former step son Jordan (Megan) Phillips and their 4 children of Elmira; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his dad, he was predeceased by 2 brothers Steven and Robert Pierce, a step granddaughter Ava Phillips, and a sister in law Robin Pierce.
