Obituary of Robert E. Montgomerie

Robert E. ''Bob'' Montgomerie Dundee: Robert E. ''Bob'' Montgomerie, age 85, of Dundee, NY passed away on Friday September 30, 2016 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan, NY. Friends are invited to call from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Wednesday Oct. 5, at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where his funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837; or the charity of the donor's choice. Robert was born July 20, 1931 in Linden, NJ, the son of the late Robert and Edna May Beattie Montgomerie. He graduated from Linden High School in the class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. A union plumber for over 40 years, he retired from Elizabeth Plumbing Supply of Elizabeth, NJ in 1996. On Sept. 15, 1985 in Dundee, NY he married the former Susan Mae Voorhees Tussel. He has lived locally since 2001, previously of Breille, NJ. A very quiet, observant, listener, who was proud of his Scottish heritage, Bob enjoyed jazz and country music, woodworking and carving; and loved horses, having owned and borded them for many years. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Susan V. Montgomerie at home; 2 daughters Michelle Fingerlin of Linden, NJ, Jill (Michael) Lee of Appomattox, VA; 2 step sons Brian D. (Tamara) Tussel of Brick, NJ, Steven F. Tussel of Brielle, NJ; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister Edna May Chek of Cream Ridge, NJ; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was pre-deceased by a daughter Cindy Sue Montgomerie, the mother of his daughters Roberta Montgomerie, 2 brothers James and Richard Montgomerie, and a sister Virginia Baldwin.
