Obituary of Lillian E. Horton

Lillian E. Horton Dundee: Lillian E. Horton, age 96, died Monday November 21, 2016 at the Fred & Harriet Taylor Health Care Center, in Bath, NY. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday (Dec. 3) at the Dundee United Methodist Church, 35 Water Street, Dundee, with Rev. Marilyn Wood officiating. Inurnment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee United Methodist Church, 35 Water Street, the Dundee Fire Company, or the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Lillian was born December 29, 1919 in Schuyler County, NY one of 4 daughters of George and Martha Duvall Emery. She graduated from Dundee High School. She was employed by Market Basket Food store before accepting a position at Dundee State Bank, transitioning to Bath National Bank from which she retired as Head Cashier. Mrs. Horton was a dedicated member of Dundee United Methodist Church, and Choir; the Rebekah Lodge, and "Our Town Rocks". She is survived by several nieces and nephews; and her dearest friends and neighbors Matt and Betty Perry. Besides her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband of 67 years Ivan Horton on July 28, 2007; and her 3 sisters, Shirley Lambert, Gladys Aston, and Pearl Millhulland; and a brother George Emery.
