Atha-Lee Dencenburg Dundee/Altay: Atha-Lee {Lyle} Dencenburg, age 85, of the town of Tyrone, NY, passed away Wednesday June 28, 2017 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, in Penn Yan. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours; and services will be private at the convenience of the family in Tyrone Union Cemetery, with her granddaughter Pastor Whendy Dencenburg Wolverton officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Altay Baptist Church, Altay, NY 14837, or Tyrone Fire Company, P.O. Box 69, Tyrone, NY 14887. Atha-Lee was born December 1, 1931 in Bath, NY, the daughter of Paul L. and Cassie {Yawger} Lyle. She graduated from Dundee Central School in 1949. On Dec. 18, 1949 in the Altay Baptist Church she married the late Paul K. Dencenburg; who passed away on Feb. 10, 1989. Her working career started at the former Dundee Button Factory, and then Westinghouse for a short time, before be hired at Ray Dann's Trading Post, in Tyrone, NY, where she worked for 45 years, retiring in 2010. Mrs. Dencenburg was a member of Altay Baptist Church, a former member of the Tyrone Chapter # 612 Order Of The Eastern Star, and was a former volunteer for the Tyrone Election Board. She was very supportive of all Veterans organizations, and enjoyed watching and feeding birds. She is survived by her 3 sons Lyle K. (Linda) Dencenburg of Dundee, Michael P. (Cathy) Dencenburg of Beaver Dams, Jeffrey (Sharon) Dencenburg of Hammondsport; 6 grandchildren Edwhenna "Whendy" Dencenburg Wolverton, Ryan (Lyndsay Mead) Dencenburg, Sean (Janice) Rosemier, Heather, Jeffrey, and Kyle (Ashley Bason) Dencenburg; 5 great grandchildren Kayla (Michael) Ward, Paeghton Dencenburg, Cady, Preston, and Camden Rosemier; 3 sisters Winifred Seybolt of Montour Falls, Naomi DeCamp of Bath, Wanda (Jim) Penna of Hammondsport; 3 brothers James Lyle of Dundee, Jack (Gail) Lyle of Bath, Roland (Suckey) Lyle of Canandaigua, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, and husband, she was predeceased by 2 sisters, and 1 brother. Arrangements are by the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee, NY.
