Obituary of Miriam Elizabeth Baird Booth

Miriam E. Baird Booth Dundee: Miriam Elizabeth Baird Booth, age 87, of Dundee, NY passed away suddenly Tuesday July 11, 2017 in the comfort of her home. Friends are invited to calling hours from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday (July 14) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday (July 15) at Faith Baptist Church 13 Harpending Ave., Dundee with Pastor Lawrence Semans officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 13 Harpending Ave., or the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837, or the charity of the donor's choice. Miriam was a child of God and the late Walter Eugene and Cora Reigelsperger Baird II, born November 25, 1929 in Atlanta, NY. She graduated from Wayland Central School class of 1947; from Delhi Ag. & Tech Institute in 1956. On April 20, 1957 in St. Paul's Church in Wayland, NY she married Robert A. Booth. Her working career began at Birdseye foods, before she became a School Lunch Manager for Wappingers Central School District and Kingston High School. After raising her family and later in life she became a Certified Home Health Aide. She has lived locally since 2006, previously of Poughkeepsie, NY where she was a former member of the New Hackensack Reformed Church, and a Life Member of the Dutchess County Scottish Society; and was part of the Woman's #1 Tres Dias Christian Community. Locally she had attended the Lakemont Church, and Faith Baptist Church; she was active in the Yates County Office of the Ageing, Our Town Rocks, and a former Vice President of the Dundee Scottish Society, and many other charitable organizations. Her hobbies were diversified, she loved her family first. She enjoyed dancing, and listening to Christian TV and radio. One of her greatest pleasures was shopping, couponing, rebating, and helping others, collecting stamps, coins, and buttons, as well as donating to worthy causes. But most importantly she was a believer in Jesus Christ. Her family will miss "Dr. Mom" and their "Professional Shopper". She is survived and will be missed by her husband of 60 years, Robert A. Booth at home; a son Baird R. (Cilinia) Booth of Dundee; daughter Brenna L. (Ron) Jackson of Shelbyville, KY, 5 grandchildren Corrina M (Dustyn) Thompson and Cara L. (Tyler Kelly) Booth all of Dundee, Jordan R., Jenna C., and Jewel C. Jackson all of Shelbyville, KY; sister in laws Judy Booth of Cortland, NY, and Clara Baird of South Carolina; along with numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins. Miriam was only 7 when her father passed away and 25 when she lost her mom. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings and their spouses, sister Nita and John Forsyth, brother Walter E. "Gene" and Joanie Baird III all of Wayland, and Theodore E. "Ted" and Jane Baird of South Carolina; brother in law Donald Booth of Cortland, NY.
