Raymond C. Selke Jr
DUNDEE, NY: Raymond Carl Selke Jr. 85 of Dundee formerly of Albany, N. Y. passed away Sunday November 19, 2017 in the comfort of his daughter's home, surrounded by his loving family.
Raymond was born on July 6, 1932 in Albany, NY the son of Raymond C. and Ethel M. {Siebert} Selke Sr. He graduated from Albany High School and served in the U S Navy. In Albany he married the love of his life the former Irene E Hulsopple they spent over 60 years married, before she passed away on April 9, 2011.
A resident of the Albany area he was employed and retired from Sterling Drugs. Raymond loved his family, and the outdoors and was a devoted Yankee fan. He spent his life loving his family serving his church and always being the go to guy. Until his final days he enjoyed living with his family enjoying the beautiful area of the Finger Lakes and cheering on the Yankees with his K9 companion Sparky.
He is dearly loved and will be extremely missed by his only daughter with whom he made his home Donna I (Buddy) Nissen-Meier; his two Sons Michael C (Nicole) Selke of Delmar NY, Raymond C (Sherri) Selke III of Vineland NJ; Grandchildren Raymond Selke IV, Jennifer Selke, Christine Selke, Paul Swarts, and Ronald W Nissen Jr whom he shared his home and loved like a son; two sisters Shirley Burns of Albany, Janet Sorenson of Saratoga Springs, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his loving wife Irene he was predeceased by a son Frank C Selke, his Son in Law Ronald W Nissen Sr. and his beloved Sir Winston.
At his request there will be no prior viewing hours. A grave side memorial service with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday Dec. 4, 2017 at Bath National Cemetery in Bath, NY, with Karl Warrington officiating.
