I am so sad to learn of Stan's passing. We worked together at OFA. Stan always had a positive message for everyone and was kind with a joke. This "silver Fox" as he referred to himself will be greatly missed. Thoughts and prayers to all.

Condolences from my heart to the whole family. I am a friend of Elaine from Eastern Nazarene College. It must be hard to go through such a loss at this time of the year. My prayers are with you especially Elaine. You and Stan did a wonderful job raising a great family. From the obituary, Stan was a wonderful example of a loving husband, father and community servant. May the comfort of the Lord be with you all right now and in the future. All of you will have beautiful memories of Stan. I hope the memorial service will be a great celebration of Stan's life.

Oh Stan, with your passing we have lost man of great integrity and honor and a gentleman who always had the voice of reason. People listened when you spoke. You were a born teacher and mentor and a friend to all with a host of the corniest of corny jokes. Honestly Stan, you held the market on getting the most groans in a day but boy what a great class icebreaker those jokes were. The kids were always so comfortable in your class, whether they were discussing some physics equation or chemical theory. You continuously had them engaged and challenged. In our shared communities of Bradford and Dundee, you were known as a wonderful teacher; in your classroom you were a star. Henry Adams said, “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” Stan, you will live on through your beautiful family, through your students, and through all of your colleagues who had the privilege of working with you. Rest in peace, dear Mr. Stefanik. How fortunate was I to know you.
With my deepest respect, Nancy

I am so very sorry. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with Stan when he and Elaine so generously came to Michigan to see their son and his extended in-laws. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Mr Stafanik was responsible for my daughter Cheryl passing in science. He had a real heart for kids. He invested in my daughter so much. He would call on a Sunday evening and remind Cheryl that she needed to complete assignments in order to be caught up. She passed science only because Stan went above and beyond. Rest easy you were our school teacher hero.

I have many memories of Mr. Stefanik, but the one that means the most to me took place in June, 1974.
Graduation was a few days away and my eyeglasses were broken in gym class. I was panic stricken. The last thing I wanted was to have to tape my glasses so I wouldn't have to squint at graduation.
Mr. Stefanik noticed I was upset and asked what was wrong. After I explained, he offered to take my glasses home with him and fix them. When he gave them back to me, they were perfect. They didn't even look like they had been broken.
He was a very kind person, and his family has my deepest condolences.

Mr. Stefanik was one of my favorite teachers. As an adult (DCS class of '01) I still think about his class to this day...the animal cards, making root beer, the live snake, old radioactive dinnerware, community presenters, painting the walls...he's the reason I love science so much and I'm sure he's had a positive impact on hundreds of other students who had the pleasure of taking his classes.

Dearest Elaine. I absolutely loved living next door to you and Stan. I knew that if I ever needed anything you were just a short walk away. Over the years I watched your family grow up and your boys turned to men. Stan was always tinkering at your house fixing things that kept him happy and content. You were forever working on the landscaping. One of the best things that came out of living at 17 Hollister Street was that I found lifetime friends. The days ahead are going to be rough for you but remember you have the Lord above and many friends that are willing to help you out. We are terribly sorry for Stan's passing, knowing that your best friend is now going to reside in Heaven. Please know, that you will be back together again someday and in the meantime, you have a wonderful Guardian Angel. We send our love and continue to hold you in our prayers. Love Terry and Dave <3

Dear Elaine and Family,
I remember Stan so fondly. He always had a smile and when he didn't have that smile, you knew the topic was serious. I always enjoyed his corny jokes. He wanted to make any where he was a better place. And now he is in that best place. He has changed his address to heaven. Bless you as you remember all of the good times... he would want it that way.
Blessing,
Anne
