Obituary of Sophie R. Kozemko

Sophie R. Kozemko Elmira/Penn Yan: Sophie R. Kozemko, age 93, formerly of Elmira, went to be in the presence of the Lord on Sunday March 18, 2018 at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, in Penn Yan, N.Y.. Friends are invited to calling hours from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday (Mar. 21) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday (Mar. 22) with Pastor Lawrence Semans officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. Sophie was born November 9, 1924 in Lopez, PA, and was the last surviving, of 14 children, of George and Catherine {Kysilowska} Raido. She was retired from Arnot-Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. A devoted mother and grandmother, who loved to bake and cook family holiday dinners. She is loved and will be forever missed by her 4 children Cathy Cimmerer of Elmira, Stephen (Jackie) Kozemko of Meshoppen, PA, Mark (Sandra) Kozemko of Espero, FL, Tina M. (Thomas) Bowers of Dundee; 6 grandchildren Carlton H. Cimmerer III, Michael, Brian, and Kevin Kozemko, Christine, and Billy Bowers; along with 17 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; and countless nieces and nephews. Besides her 13 siblings, she was pre-deceased by her husband Frank Kozemko in 1990, and a granddaughter Charlene {Cimmerer} Kwiatkowski on May 27, 2003.
