Obituary of Clifford Stanley Orr

Clifford Stanley ''Cliff'' Orr "Life's A Dance" Penn Yan: Clifford Stanley Orr, 66 of Penn Yan, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday Sept. 15, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital, following a motorcycle accident. He was surrounded by loved ones. Friends may call from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday (Sept. 20) at the Weldon Funeral Home Inc., 102 E. Main St. Penn Yan, NY, where his funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday (Sept. 21). Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Penn Yan. A reception will follow at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge. The family respectfully declines flowers and graciously asks that those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the Penn Yan Lions Club, P.O. Box 663 Penn Yan, NY 14527. Cliff was born April 17, 1952, son of the late Erwin and Barbara {Raker} Orr. He was a 1970 Penn Yan Academy graduate. He was Vice President of Sales and Marketing at The Birkett Mills in Penn Yan. He was the chairman of the Village Planning Board, a member of The Moose Club, The Lions Club International, The Republican Committee of Yates County, the Chamber of Commerce and the Yates County Pool League. He also took pride in owning and operating The Fox Inn B&B in Penn Yan for 13 years. He loved to entertain, cook, travel, ride his Harley, boating on Keuka Lake and spending time with his family. He loved pears "because they taste like pears". Cliff is survived by his beloved wife Michele of 23 years; his daughters Kathryn "Kate" Orr, Felicia (James) Smalley, Lyndsy (Luke) Brown, Markie (Ryan) Bergman; grandsons, Garrett, Levi, Liam, James, Avery; granddaughter, Madilynn. He is also survived by his brother Ralph (Mary) Orr; nephews James and Mathew (Jesseca) Orr; along with his great-nieces Mackenzie and Braylin; and literally countless friends. Besides his parents he was pre-deceased by his grandparents Viola & Clifford Orr, whom he was named after. F. Steven Exner and Baird R. Booth are honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
