Obituary of John Richard Boyce

John Richard ''Rick'' Boyce Dundee: John Richard ''Rick'' Boyce, age 60, of Dundee, NY died unexpectedly on Monday October 29, 2018 at home. Honoring his wishes there will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family c/o Frank Boyce; the Dundee Library 32 Water St. Dundee, NY 14837; or any of the local fire departments. John known better as "Rick" was born July 13, 1958 in Penn Yan, NY, the middle son of Franklin T. and the late Joan {Wahlers} Boyce Sr. He graduated from Dundee Central School in the class of 1976. He earned certification from BOCES in Agricultural Mechanics. He served in the U.S. Air Force in 1978. Rick was a carpenter for many years having been employed by various contractors on the east coast. He loved to study the Bible and learn from his readings, and enjoyed conversations about religion and the teachings and interpretations of the many books of the Bible. He is survived by his son Richard T. (Monika) Boyce of Yorktown, VA, a daughter Susan L. (Andrew) Visiko of Penn Yan, NY; 4 grandchildren, Annabelle E. Boyce, Kimberly R. Visiko, Richard A. "Dickie" Boyce, Victoria Ann Boyce; his father Frank T. Boyce Sr. currently of Penn Yan, NY; and 2 brothers F. Thomas Boyce Jr. of Branchport, NY, and Robert W. Boyce of Dundee. He was predeceased by first wife Kimberly Rose and their unborn daughter Shiela Rose, and by his mother Joan W. Boyce on Sept. 28, 2018.
