Dundee: Sharon J. Leone, age 72, of Dundee, NY passed away on Tuesday December 18, 2018 in the comfort of her home.
Honoring her wishes there were no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Her Life from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Saturday Dec. 29, 2018 at the family home 5115 DeCamp Rd. Dundee, NY 14837.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Tyrone Volunteer Ambulance Corp., P.O. Box 69, Tyrone, NY 14887.
Sharon was born November 26, 1946 in Elmira, NY, the daughter of Wilmot "Bay" C. Reed and Ethel M. Slater Reed. She graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1964. On Aug. 23, 1974 in Rochester, NY she married Francis E. "Fran" Leone Sr. who passed away on Dec. 26, 2016.
A secretary all her life; she worked for numerous companies, in Rochester, before moving to Schuyler County. Her favorites, being Elmira Discount, Piehler Automotive; she retired from Schuyler County Highway Department in 1988. In her spare time she loved camping, crafts, and spending time with grandchildren.
She is loved and will be missed by 2 sons Francis E. "Fran" (Kim) Leone Jr. of Hilton, NY, Raymond C. "Ray" (Donna) Leone of Rushville , NY; a daughter Amy-Beth (Randy) Abbey with whom she shared her home; 4 grandchildren Jessica (Dave) Burland of Canandaigua, NY, Brooke (Jordan Crowe) Leone of Webster, NY, Nicholas F. (Zayna Hartman) Scott and Samantha R. Scott both of Dundee, 1 great granddaughter Jolene Leone; 2 sisters Susan Bryant of Elmira, NY, and Deb (Lynn) Skelly of Tioga, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
