Dundee/Penn Yan: Howard Donald "Don" Webster, age 94, of Dundee, NY died Monday January 7, 2019 at the Penn Yan Manor Nursing Home, Penn Yan, N.Y..

Calling hours will be from 4-6 pm Thursday (Jan. 10) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Friday (Jan. 11) at the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, Dundee with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company 12 Union St., or the Dundee Baptist Church, 20 Seneca Street, Dundee, NY 14837.

Howard was born October 17, 1924 in the town of Milo, NY, one of 5 sons of the late Howard Eugene and Olive Christine Morley Webster. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Sept. 13, 1946 in the Dundee Baptist Church he married the former Elinor June Miller who passed away on July 31, 2017.

A lifelong area resident, he was a farmer as a boy, after the Navy he worked construction for George Davis, worked for Millard Dairy, Seneca Grape Juice, Giles Family Store, and was a foreman for Taylor Wine in Hammondsport for 25 years; retiring in 1986.

Mr. Webster was an active member of the Dundee Baptist Church, and a Trustee; he was also a member of the Dundee American Legion, and ran Teen Town at the Legion; was a former Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader; and volunteered at the Food Pantry, and Meals on Wheels. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

He is survived by 2 sons Terry W. Webster of Penn Yan, Howard Michael (Lorrie) Webster of Belton, MO, 5 daughters Linda D. (Joseph) Young of Dundee, Luanne (Walter) Bennett of Watkins Glen, NY, Donna M. (Robert) Bergmark of Dundee, Mari E. (John) Gauck of Montour Falls, NY, Judy L. (Anthony) DeLaurentiis of Trumansburg, NY; 22 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a brother Robert (Rose) Webster of Penn Yan; 2 sisters Nancy Fullagar of Billerica, MA, Carol (Charles) Leach of Penn Yan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife he was pre-deceased by a grandson David Kaul, Daughter in law Sharon J. Webster; and 3 brothers Kenneth, Jack and Dick Webster.
