Obituary of Max H. Denmark

Max Harlan Denmark

Rock Stream: Max Harlan Denmark, age 88, of Rock Stream, NY died Monday May 27, 2019 with his family at his side in Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls, N.Y.

Friends are invited to calling hours from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Friday (May 31) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where his funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. with Lay Pastor Lew Ann Giles officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837.

Max was born April 9, 1931 in Horseheads, NY, the son of the late Max and Mary {Staples} Denmark. On June 10, 1950 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, in Bradford, NY he married the former Florence Irene Olevnik.

Max was employed for 40 years by Shepard-Niles Montour Falls, NY. During that time he also worked in the transportation and trucking business; hauling milk for Stewart P. Wilson; driving tour bus for Elmira Transit; and delivering Propane for J.M. Trucking. He worked until he was 80, retiring in 2011. Mr. Denmark was a former member of the Dundee Masonic Lodge, and the Dundee Civil Defense.

He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 69 years Florence Irene Denmark at home; a daughter Barbara M. (Dale) DeWitt; 3 sons Lynn H. Denmark, Tim L. Denmark; and Ron J. (Kay Austerman) Denmark all of Dundee, NY; 4 grandchildren, Jeffery, Ann, Benjamin, and Kara; 3 great grandchildren, Jeffery Jr., Cameron, and Landon Denmark; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He was pre-deceased by a grandson Michael Denmark, a brother Dwight Denmark, and a sister Vivian Cody.
