Richard A. ''Rich'' Howard Tyrone/Dundee: Richard A. ''Rich'' Howard, age 58, of Dundee, NY died Friday May 31, 2019 at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center, in Elmira, NY. Honoring his wishes there are no calling hours. A celebration of his life with a dish to pass party as he requested will be on Sunday June 9, 2019 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 pm at the Bath American Legion14 W. William St. Bath, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Rich was born December 6, 1960 in Logansport, Indiana, the son of the late Billy D. and Sylvia J. {Heverly} Howard. He graduated from Logansport Community High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979-1983. On March 12, 2011 in Watkins Glen, NY he married the former Sherry A. Campbell. Rich was the President of A.F.G.E. Union Local 491 for the U.S. Dept. of Veterans affairs based at the Bath V.A. Medical Center, in Bath, NY. He was a former member of the Watkins Glen Elk Lodge, and was an avid sports enthusiast. He was a dedicated Chicago fan, "Bears", "Cubs" the "Fighting Irish" of Notre Dame, he enjoyed I.U. basketball, and NASCAR. But his "True Love" in life was, Family is most important; he loved his dogs, and dedicated his life to helping people. He is survived by his wife Sherry A. Howard at home; his son Jason Howard of Jacksonville, FL; daughter Sarah J. Howard of Delaware, step son Wesley W. Jones of Interlaken, NY; 7 grandchildren; 2 sisters Ruth Ann Howard of Howey In The Hills, FL, Janice (Larry) White of Bath, NY; brother Kenny Howard of Tyrone, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother B.D. Howard in 2004.
