Obituary of James F. Hand

James (Bugsy) Hand Dundee - James F. Hand, 66, of Dundee died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct 9, 2019 at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Elmira. A Celebration of Jim's Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18th at the Dundee V.F.W. Seneca St. Ext. Dundee, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Humane Society of Yates County, P.O. Box 12, Penn Yan, NY 14527. Jim was born Aug 17, 1953 in Oswego, NY, to the late Willard J. and Marjorie L. {Winter} Hand. He graduated from Waverly High School in 1971. Jim served for a short time with the Dundee Police Department; before accepting a position in the maintenance department of the Dundee School District retiring after many years in 2008. He also worked part time and security at the Former O'Leary's in Penn Yan, and in the tasting room of Hickory Hollow Winery. Jim enjoyed, riding motorcycles and was a member of the Star Motorcycle Club; doing wood working projects for friends and family; and was a true animal lover and will be missed by his cats. Jim is survived by his two children, Elesha (Chris) Wager of Penn Yan, NY, and Brennan (Rachel) Hand of Albany, NY, and two grandsons Ethan and Ryan Wager. He is also survived by eight brothers and sisters, Maude (David) Coleman of Bryan, TX, Tom (Phyllis) Hand of Wichita Falls, TX, Vic Hand of Endicott, NY, Alice (Harry) Schneider of Milan, PA, Linda Johnson of Penn Yan, NY, Bill (Cheryl) Hand of Bonita Springs, FL, Kathy (Andy) Simmons of Dundee, NY, and Becky (Don) Ayers of Montour Falls, NY, plus several nieces and nephews.
