Margaret J. Cummings Dundee: Margaret J. Cummings, age 94, of Dundee, N.Y. died Monday July 16, 2012 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, N.Y.. Friends may call from 12:00 noon - 1:00 p.m. Thursday (July 19) at the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee; where a funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Lawrence Semans officiating. Burial will be private in Second Milo Cemetery, Second Milo, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Margaret was born June 17, 1918 in Penn Yan, N.Y., the daughter of the late Harry and Muriel Clark Gibbs. On April 13, 1935 she married the late Calvin Cummings; he passed away on March 2, 1988. A farm wife for most of her life, she also worked in area vineyards, and berry farms for many years to help make ends meet. Over the years, Mrs. Cummings had attended the Second Milo Church, the Barrington Community Church, and the Faith Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, gardening, embroidery, and cross word puzzles. She is survived by 3 sons Harry J. "Jim" (Maxine) Cummings of Arkansas, Leslie C. "Pete" (Winifred) Cummings and David J. (Peggy) Cummings both of Dundee; 11 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a son Robert C. Cummings on Nov. 22, 2010; 2 brothers Donald and Kenneth Gibbs; and a sister Helen Harper.
