Obituary of Linda J. Doty

Linda J. Doty (Huberdeau) 9/30/1949-1/4/2020 Penn Yan: Linda J. Doty (Huberdeau) passed away January 4, 2020 surrounded by family. Born in Haverhill, MA, Linda was the eldest child of Richard and Bernice Huberdeau. She graduated from Keuka College and received her Master's in English from the University of Rochester, after which she taught in Webster and Prattsburgh Central School district for 35 years. Linda is survived by her loving husband Gary; brothers Richard (Deborah) Huberdeau, nieces Kelley, Katie, Kristen and Kara from Massachusetts; Allen (Cindy) Huberdeau, nieces Jennifer, Danielle, Michelle and nephew/godson Allen from Massachusetts; along with great nieces, nephews and many cherished friends. In addition to her teaching career, Linda owned Teen Tours, a travel escort service, as well as Suits Us to a Tea, a costumed tea party business. Traveling, reading, scuba diving, gardening, learning from others, spending retirement time with Gary and volunteering were her avocations. Linda volunteered at Keuka Comfort Care, Clinton Crest Manor (where she was an activities director), Prattsburgh Central School, Friends of the Penn Yan Library, and Trustee at the Union Congregational United Church of Christ. While in St. Croix, she volunteered at St. George Village Botanical Garden, Good Hope School and My Brother's Table. Family and friends will celebrate Linda's life at a memorial service at 2pm Saturday February 29, 2020 at Union Congregational United Church of Christ 4823 State Route 14A, Hall, NY 14463. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Linda's honor to Union Congregational United Church of Christ at 4823 State Route 14A, Hall, NY 14463, Keuka Comfort Care Home PO Box 107, Penn Yan, NY 14527 and Penn Yan Public Library at 214 Main St, Penn Yan, NY 14527.
