Eleanor R. Guild Tyrone: Eleanor R. Guild, age 98, formerly of Tyrone, NY died Friday March 6, 2020 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, N.Y. Honoring her wishes there are no prior calling hours or public service. Inurnment will be held in Bath National Cemetery, at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Waneta Lake Baptist Chapel, 8855 West Waneta Lake Road, Hammondsport, NY 14840. Eleanor was born December 3, 1921 in Sonora, NY, the daughter of the late Albert L. and Dorothy L. {Borden} Little. She graduated from Elmira Heights High School in 1939. On May 7, 1942 in Elmira, NY she married the late Raymond P. Guild who passed away on April 14, 1996. She had lived along Waneta Lake since 1964, having previously resided in Ithaca, Elmira, and San Antonio, TX, while her husband served in the US Army during World War II. Owner of her own beauty shop in her early years, she sold real estate for a while, she was happiest as a stay at home mom, crocheting, making wedding cakes, gardening, feeding her birds, ceramics, and being a seamstress. Mrs. Guild was a member of the Waneta Lake Baptist Church, and former organist. She is survived by 5 daughters Sharon R. Wyllie of Brooktondale, NY, Elizabeth (Dana) Furman of Jacksonville, NC, Cindy (Tom) Sensabaugh of Naples, NY, and twins Suzan (Bob) Byington also of Naples, and Pamela (Bob) Wilson of Gorham, NY; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her daughter Barbara A. Morehouse twin of Elizabeth in 1998; and a granddaughter Judy D. Kimball who was also a twin, on July 30, 2019.
