Obituary of Ilene Edna Scott

Ilene Edna Hilligus Scott DUNDEE: Ilene Edna (Hilligus) Scott, Age 77, of Dundee, NY, joined her sister (Patricia Woodard) and "partner in crime" on April 9th, 2020, surrounded by her family at home. Ilene was born on September 17, 1942 in Bath, NY. The daughter of Olyn Palmer and Edna Kathryn (Harrison) Hilligus Sr. She was a lifelong resident of Dundee, graduating from Dundee Central School in 1960 and raising her four children from her marriage to the late Clyde V. Scott. She worked many jobs through out her life to support herself and family, those included Michael Sterns, Seneca Foods and the Dundee Library as the Library Clerk. Her work at the library brought her much joy in connecting with the community, both discussing books and life in general. When she wasn't working, you could find her with her sister Pat Woodard, as the co-pilot delivering Meals- ON- Wheels, out with the "Red Hats", shopping or even at the casinos "getting into trouble". They had a bond only sisters can have and now they are together again. Ilene, Mom, Grandma, Auntie and Friend will be missed by many, especially her four children, daughter Laurie Scott of Sacramento, CA, and sons, David Scott of Dundee, Christopher (Colleen) Scott of Himrod, NY, and Josh Scott also of Dundee; her grandchildren, Cassandra Scott, Nicholas (Zayna) Scott, Christopher (Madison) Scott Jr, Samantha Scott, Ryan Potter, Abigail Scott and Colleen Scott; her great grandchildren, Jolene and Presley; and many nieces and nephews, who share lots of memories of growing up with her. She was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Due to the CDC guidelines, a celebration of Ilene's life will be held at a later date, to be will be announced and all will be welcome. She will be buried in Grove Mount Cemetery, Himrod, NY with her parents and grandparents.
