Obituary of Kenneth Ray Oliver

Kenneth Ray ''Ken'' Oliver Dundee: Kenneth Ray ''Ken'' Oliver, age 93, of Dundee, NY passed away with his wife by his side on Saturday May 9, 2020 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, in Montour Falls, NY. There will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday Aug. 8, 2020 at the Dundee United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837 or the Horseheads Church of Christ 165 Miller St. Horseheads, NY 14845. Kenneth was born March 26, 1927 in Burton, West Virginia, son of Russell L. and Annabelle {Davis} Oliver. He graduated High School in Hundred, West Virginia. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II. On Nov. 6, 1951 in Winchester, VA he married the former Ruth E. Osler. They moved from Hopwood, PA to Dundee in 1958. Ken worked in the Gas Field business all his life, retiring from Columbia Gas, of Rock Stream, NY in 1987. He was a member of the Horseheads Church of Christ; and an avid car enthusiast who loved to travel. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of 68 years Ruth E. Oliver at home; a son Kevin R. Oliver of Redwood City, CA; a daughter Tamara M. Oliver of Homer, NY; a brother Donald Oliver of Florence, AZ; sister in law Genevieve O. Davis of Penn Yan, NY; several nieces and nephews; and their "Other Son" Bob Peelle. Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by twin sons Sean Linn, and Mark Wayne Oliver; 2 brothers Robert &Dwain Oliver; and a sister Juanita Chisnell.
