Obituary of Frank R. Moskal Jr.

Frank R. Moskal Jr. Altay/ Dundee: Frank R. Moskal Jr., age 87, of Altay, NY passed away Sunday August 23, 2020 at Ira Davenport Hospital, in Bath, N.Y. Honoring his wishes there are no calling hours. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Altay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Altay Baptist Church, 4289 Six Corners Road, Dundee, NY 14837. Frank was born June 13, 1933 in Florida, NY, one of four sons of the late Frank P. and Mary E. {Gorecki} Moskal Sr. Moving to the Dundee area as a preteenager, he graduated from Dundee Central School in 1951. On Sept. 15, 1956 in St. Michael's Catholic Church, in Penn Yan, NY he married the former Patricia A. Booth. Frank was a farmer originally, before accepting a position with the U.S. Postal Service; where he worked for over 30 years, retiring as Postmaster of Dundee. Mr. Moskal was a member of the Altay Baptist Church, was a past member of Dundee Rotary Club; a past President of the Dundee Central School Board of Education; and was one of the founders of Altay Old Home Days, and has always been very dedicated to the preservation and history of the Altay area. In his spare time, he loved music and enjoyed playing the piano, guitar, and harmonica; he also loved photography and capturing most family get-togethers on video. He is loved and will be dearly missed by his wife of nearly 64 years, Patricia A. Moskal at home; 2 sons Frank R. (Andrea) Moskal III of Londonderry, NH, Michael G. (Donna) Moskal of Pottstown, PA; a daughter Michelle A. (Paul) Lorenz of Salisbury, NC; brother Bill Moskal of Philadelphia, PA; 2 sisters Joan L. Moskal of Dundee, and Catherine A. Moskal of Starkey, NY; 4 grandchildren whom he cherished, Christopher, Frank R. IV, Aleksandra, and Olivia; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by 2 brothers in 2015, Raymond J. and Eugene T. Moskal.
