Chester R. ''Chet'' Stoltzfus Bath: Chester R. ''Chet'' Stoltzfus, age 85, of Bath, NY formerly of Dundee, died Wednesday August 26, 2020 in the comfort of his daughter's home. Due to Covid-19 restrictions and following social distance guidelines, a graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday Aug. 31 in the Barrington Community Church Cemetery. After the service the family will greet attendees in the church pavilion. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Barrington Community Church, P.O. Box 73, Dundee, NY 14837. Chester was born Jan. 14, 1935 in Morgantown, PA, the son of the late Jesse B. and Sadie M. {Fisher} Stoltzfus. On Jan. 29, 1955 in Morgantown, PA he married the former Rachel Stoltzfus; who passed away on Oct. 30, 2018. A farmer in Pennsylvania before becoming a self-employed trucker; he moved from Elverson, PA to New York in 1976, and retired in 2004. "Chet" was a devoted member of the Barrington Community Church; was a member of the American Historical Trucking Assoc., the Buck Run Hunting Club in Port Allegany, PA, and the N.R.A. An avid hunter; he enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle, and black 7, and loved checkers. But most of all he loved time spent with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is loved and will be forever missed by his 2 sons Howard J. (Jayne) Stoltzfus of Nichols, NY, Darrel L. Stoltzfus of Mt. Joy, PA; daughter Wanda S. (John) Moore with whom he was making his home in Bath, NY; 7 grandchildren, Phillip Stoltzfus, Tyler (Erika Kalgren) Stoltzfus, Scott (Lisa) Cook, Melissa Cook, Tony Stoltzfus, Rachel (Andy) Ratchford, and Jonathan (Amanda) Moore; 9 great grandchildren; 2 brothers Clyde (Jane) Stoltzfus of Ephrata, PA, Leroy J. (Pauline) Stoltzfus of Manheim, PA; 3 sisters Reba Yoder of Elverson, PA, Anna Mae (Lester) Eby of Ephrata, PA, Erma "Dolly" (Albert) Kaufman of Dundee; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Besides his parents, and wife, he was predeceased by a sister Joyce, and a brother Howard J. Stoltzfus. Arrangements are entrusted to the Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee.
