Obituary of Edna L. Kent

Edna L. Kent Dundee: Edna L. Kent, age 99, of Dundee, NY passed away Saturday March 20, 2021 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, NY. Honoring her wishes there will no prior calling hours or public services. Inurnment will be in Rock Stream Cemetery, Rock Stream, NY. Edna was born February 21, 1922 in Montour Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Alice (West) Burnett She graduated from Odessa Central School in 1941. She served as a WAC during WWII from 1942-1945, and upon being Honorably discharged she moved to Rochester. On Aug. 2, 1947 in Rochester, NY she married the late Kenneth S. Kent and together they moved to Dundee in 1948 to raise their family. After which, Edna was employed by Seneca Foods, in Dundee as a machine operator, for 21 years, retiring in 1986. Mrs. Kent was a member of devoted member of the Dundee Presbyterian Church, a former collector for the Dundee United Fund, volunteered at the Dundee Food Pantry; as was a multi term President of the Dundee Senior Citizens Organization. She is survived by several loving nieces, nephews and dear lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her only child Kenneth R. Kent in 1969 while serving in Vietnam; her husband Kenneth passed away on July 3, 1972. She has outlived all her siblings; 4 brothers Earl, Raymond, Elmer and Ralph Burnett, and 4 sisters Ida Burnett, Ruth Spitole, Grace Grover, and Julia Burnett, along with their respective spouses.
