Thomas Paul Tuttle Dundee: Thomas Paul Tuttle, age 75, died March 18, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital Rochester, NY. Tom was born April 6, 1945 in Corning, NY son of Paul F. and Dorothy L. (Lewis) Tuttle. He grew up in Corning, loved outdoor sports and won trophies diving at city pool events. His occupation was an Orderly at Corning Hospital, Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, NY and the Steuben County Infirmary Bath, NY. Besides patient care, ER and OR Orderly, he was an assistant to Corning pathologist, Dr. John Poore. Tom also enjoyed being a watchman at Ingersoll-Rand, making old-fashioned in-home bottled milk deliveries for the former Scudder dairy, working at the bowling alley setting up bowling pins (before the automatic setting machines) and helping his brother Richard at the Corning Music and News. May 1972, Tom married devoted and loving Yvonne. They were just shy of their 49th anniversary. Tom never missed a deer season, loved to fish, and found great pleasure gardening. He always cared for each plant as though it was the only one in the field or flowerbed. He taught his son Tommy and daughter Melinda to care for plants and people, not only how to achieve but how to use common sense. Tom's great passion was Major League Baseball. Late 90's and 2000's he met many players and coaches at the Melbourne FL Grapefruit League spring training complex. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard L. Tuttle, loving son, Thomas Paul Tuttle II (Tommy), parents-in-law William and Helen Steverson, sister-in-law Sharlene Morrow, brother-in-law Dale Steverson, dear friend William Stoeter, his first doggy Penny, 2nd dog Sindi, and his little Maltese healers-Daisy and Lilly. Tom is survived by his wife Yvonne, the light of his life, daughter Melinda (Roland) Hall of Twin Mountain, NH, step-grandson Danté Hall of Jacksonville, FL, step-granddaughter Rachel Hall (Justin) and step-great grandson Riley of Macclenny, FL, brother Philip (Judy) Tuttle of Corning, NY, brother Leland (Joni) Tuttle of Madison Heights, VA, brother-in-law Jeff Morrow, sisters-in-laws Karen (Gary) Santee, Cheryl (David) Adam, Kim (Brian) Wickham, Aunt Anne Simmons, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including dear friend Virginia Stoeter. He wanted to acknowledge his healthcare teams since 2014, during remission, and to the present. Wilmot Cancer Center, Rochester, NY, Sands Cancer Center, Canandaigua, NY, Keuka Health, Penn Yan, NY and the Lifetime Care Program. A special thank you to friend, Dr. Arnold Shapiro who always called Tom "The Miracle Man". His last days were comforted by Strong Memorial Hospital Palliative Care and U of R Hospice providers. His public acquaintances must be acknowledged for accepting him and his use of an electrolarynx speech device after losing his natural voice in 2014, this afforded him the opportunity to be out and about, knowing he could count on their help, like assistance finding an item while shopping. A special thanks to pharmacists, medical supply providers and delivery persons with FedEx, USPS, and UPS (especially Tim) which made it possible for Tom to remain in home over the years. Melinda and Roland said, "The strongest, courageous, heroic man we ever knew" and brother Phil said, "I could never had done what Tom did!" Brother Leland said, "A cancer took Tom's life, then the LORD called Tom home to be with HIM forever!" Memorial contributions may be sent to the Cornell Baker Institute for Animal Health 235 Hungerford Hill Road, Ithaca, NY 14853. Tom, through personal experience, became an advocate in the research aspects of canine cancer detection in their owners. There are no calling hours. Thomas was cremated and burial will be in a private ceremony.
