Donald R. ''Don'' Habberfield Sr. Penn Yan: Donald R Habberfield Sr., age 89, of Penn Yan, NY died Monday May 17, 2021 at V.A. Medical Center in Bath, NY Friends are invited to a Celebration of His Life starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at the American Legion in Penn Yan, NY In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Penn Yan American Legion 2001 Himrod Rd. Penn Yan, NY 14527. Donald was born on March 26, 1932 in Penn Yan, the son of the late Harold R. and Maude (Disbrow) Habberfield. He graduated from Penn Yan Academy and entered the Air Force. On December 12, 1957 he married the former Helen (Pitocchelli). He managed Endicott Johnson Shoe Stores, and in 1968 they purchased Don's Lunch and Billiards which they owned for 13 years. He enjoyed wood working and together he and Helen had a booth at the Windmill. Don was a lifelong member of the American Legion and a member of the VFW, and Moose Lodge He will be greatly missed by his son Donald Jr. (Yvonne) of Penn Yan; twin granddaughters Brooke Habberfield and Beth Habberfield; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, Donald was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.
