Carl Donald Beckwith Hammondsport/Wayne/Rochester: Carl Donald Beckwith, age 84, of the town of Wayne, NY; formerly of Rochester, NY died unexpectedly on Tuesday July 20, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester. Honoring his wishes there will be no calling hours or public service. A private graveside service will be held at the White Haven Memorial Park, Oakwood Mausoleum in Pittsford, NY with Rev. Aola Couse officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wayne American Legion Meade-Price Post 1208 Inc., P.O. Box 101, Wayne, NY 14893. Carl was born April 8, 1937 in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Harold and Elsie (Beach) Beckwith. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1963. On October 24, 1959 he married the former Patricia Anne Brahl and was her loving husband and caregiver for 58 years before she passed away on Oct. 27, 2017. Carl was a respected and accomplished self-employed carpenter, specializing in kitchen and bath construction and installation, having sub contracted for 39 years for Ridge Lumber. He was a devoted Legionnaire having been a Past Commander and current officer in the Wayne American Legion. In his spare time when not at the legion, he enjoyed bowling, hunting, and fishing especially in his younger years. On Dec. 28, 2018 he married the former Kathryn E. (Ripley) Ernest and welcomed her family as his own. "A great friend and amazing neighbor" who lived to help anyone in need; he will be missed by all who knew him. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by his wife Kathryn E. Ernest Beckwith at home; her 3 children whom he loved as his own, Terry Couse of Bronx, NY, Judy (Jim) Spencer of New Port Richey, FL, and Mickey (Rev. Aola) Couse of Elmira, NY; a sister Patricia K. Graf of Fairport, NY; a brother Harold (Josephine) Beckwith of Webster, NY; 3 nephews Robert (Sara) Graf of Los Lunas, N.M., Daniel (Julie) Graf of Fairport, NY, and David (Dana) Graf of Webster, NY; a brother in law from his first marriage Michael Kusovich (Steven Brewer) of Rochester; 4 great nieces Katherine, Kira, Lauren, and Rachel Graf; 1 great nephew and Godson Daniel Graf; and 1 great great niece Amelia Graf; and countless friends, and neighbors.
