Obituary of Eugene L. Daggett

Eugene L. Daggett Dundee/Tyrone: Eugene L. Daggett, age 71, passed away at his home near Tyrone, NY on Sunday, August 15, 2021. Gene was born in Penn Yan, NY on November 12, 1949. Gene graduated from Dundee Central School in 1967. He held a variety of jobs during his lifetime, including vehicle glass installation in California, containment of landfills in New York and Ohio, and owning and operating his own sawmill near Tyrone. He logged, cut the lumber and built his tiny house in the woods that used solar energy long before tiny houses were popular. He is survived by his brother, Daryl (Betty) Daggett, his sister, Ann Shepardson, his favorite nephew, Nathan (Alexis Bell) Daggett, nieces Connie (Bob) Peacock, Jolynn (Andy) Worden, Elaine (Dan) Lewis, Kelly (Scott Martinka) Shepardson, and nephews Bryan (Robyn) Shepardson, and Scott Shepardson. Gene is also survived by many great nieces and great nephews, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Daggett, and mother, Grace Loree Daggett. A celebration of his life with luncheon, will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. in the pavilion in the valley behind the Himrod Conservation Club, Rice Road Himrod, NY.
