Obituary of Graydon Allen Youngman

Graydon Allen Youngman Dundee: Graydon Allen Youngman, age 88, of Dundee, NY passed away peacefully Wednesday September 15, 2021 in the comfort of his home with his wife by his side. Honoring the family wishes, and desiring Covid-19 precautions there are no public calling hours. His funeral service will be private at the convenience of the family; with burial in Hillside Cemetery, Dundee. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Altay Baptist Church, 4289 Six Corners Rd., Dundee, NY 14837. Graydon was born January 9, 1933 in Sodus NY, the son of the late Arthur and Frances Youngman of Wolcott NY. Graydon graduated from Leavenworth Central School in 1952 and received his bachelor's degree in industrial arts from Oswego State Teachers College. On June 22, 1957 he married his high school sweetheart the former Molly R. DeBack of Wolcott. Mr. Youngman taught in Dundee Central School for 33 years in various high school subjects from Industrial Arts to Science / Technology; even drivers ed. He was a founding member of the Dundee Flying Club, a past Scout Master of Boy Scout Troup 25, member of JC's, a longtime member of the Dundee Baptist Church, Past President of the Dundee Historical Society, community volunteer in the local food pantry and Touch of Christmas celebration; and was a former member of the grievance committee in the Town of Starkey. Graydon enjoyed nature, spending time fishing, flying, hunting, traveling and growing crops on his farm. Besides his wife of 64 years, he is survived by their 4 children Julie (Takashi) Yoshika, David (Becky) Youngman, James (Sarah) Youngman, Bruce Youngman and an AFS exchange student Kerstin Eriksson from Sweeden. 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Yoshika, Natalie Yoshika and Valarie (Nick) Tam, Kelsey Youngman, Jordan (Mindy) Youngman, Marissa (Jonathan) Lowen, Wesley (Tabitha) Youngman, Thomas Youngman, Lawrence (Malinda) Youngman, Sarah Elizabeth Youngman, Philip Youngman and 9 great grandchildren; 3 brothers Douglas (Joan) Youngman, Dallas (Delphia) Youngman, Gerald (Lois) Youngman, and numerous nieces and nephews He was pre deceased by 2 sisters and 5 brothers and a great grandson Robert Youngman.
