Obituary of Linda L. Barkley

Linda L. Barkley Penn Yan: Linda L. Barkley, age 75, of Penn Yan, NY died Saturday June 25, 2022 at The Homestead, in Penn Yan, N.Y.. Honoring her wishes there will be no prior calling hours. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday July 10, in the west end of Hillside Cemetery, Dundee, NY. With her cousin Pastor David Little officiating. Linda was born May 23, 1947 in Bath, NY, the daughter of the late Richard and Georga L. "Bennett Little. Raised attending the Weston Presbyterian Church throughout her youth; she graduated in 1966 from Dundee Central School. She started her working career at the Penn Yan Basket Factory before accepting a position working for Penn Yan Boats. Her longest; and most rewarding job was working with the many dear residents under the care of the Arc of Yates; where she was loved by all the clients until her retirement in 2016. Mrs. Barkley was a member of the Penn Yan American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to bowl, and was on numerous leagues over the years, her favorite being the Friday Night Moon Lighters. She was the league statistician until computers took over. In her spare-time, she loved growing flowers in her gardens. She is loved and will be missed by her son Richard A. (Nicky) Barkley of Hornell, NY; 4 grandchildren Breonna Eaton of Hornell, Kaylee Barkley of Newark, NY, Aliyah Barkley and Colton Barkley also of Hornell; her sister and very best friend Peggy L. Lane of Dundee, and her sister Susan L. (J.C.) Robbins of Rock Stream, NY; along with numerous nieces, nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
