Obituary of Jean R. Paige

Jean R. Paige Dundee: Jean R. Paige, age 93, passed away Thursday December 13, 2012 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, Unit 2, in Montour Falls, NY. Mrs. Paige was a long-time resident of St. Mark's Terrace, Dundee, and previously a resident of Rock Road, also in Dundee. Honoring her wishes, there are no prior calling hours. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Jean was born Nov. 9, 1919 in Haverhill, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Dwight and Addie Woods Reed. She graduated from Lisbon High School, and on Oct. 23, 1941, she married the late Robert A. Paige (also of Lisbon, NH), who passed away on July 5, 1992 in Dundee, New York. For more than 20 years, she was a clerk, employed by Merchants National Bank, in Dover, N.H. She and her husband, an ardent beekeeper, moved to Dundee to enjoy a rural retirement. Mrs. Paige was an avid writer and poet, an enthusiastic member of the Red Jackets Writers Club. She also wrote her own column in the Dundee Observer for many years. She is loved and will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sue Malone, of Jacksonville, FL; 4 grandchildren: James A. Malone, Viki Malone, Ronald K. Paige, and Robert Paige; 4 great grandchildren; a sister, Iva Reed, of San Francisco, CA; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Paige was pre-deceased by a son, Laird K. Paige, on Apr. 27, 1994; 3 brothers: Walter Reed, Franklin Reed, Romer Reed; and a sister, Ellen Presby.
