James J. ''Jim'' Tuttle III Dundee: James J. ''Jim'' Tuttle III, age 76, of The Homestead, previously of Dundee, N.Y. died Tuesday January 1, 2013 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Penn Yan, N.Y. There are no prior calling hours. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday (Jan. 11) at Baird Funeral Home, 36 Water Street, Dundee with Mary Root officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Dundee Fire Company Emergency Squad, 12 Union St., Dundee, NY 14837. Jim was born October 16, 1936 in Elmira, NY, the son of the late James J. and Victoria Fiola Tuttle II. A dairy farmer on the family farm as soon as he was old enough to work; Jim had worked for Penn Yan Boats for over 20 years, and for Angel's Restaurant for years. He also will be remembered by many people whom he sold fire wood to. On May 14, 1988 in Barrington, NY he married the former Barbara K. English Gavigan. Mr. Tuttle was a member of the Penn Yan Moose Lodge. He is survived and will be missed by his wife of 24 years, Barbara K. Tuttle at home, 3 daughters Ruth Ann Schenck of Dundee, Debra (Craig) Litchfield of Columbus, NC, Cindy (Jeff) Hansen of Roseville, FL, 3 sons James J. Tuttle IV of Dundee, Patrick (Linda) Gavigan of Penn Yan, Roy Gavigan of Dundee; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
